Prof. Chengshu Wang’s Lab in the Center for Excellence in Molecular Plant Sciences, Shanghai Institute of Plant Physiology and Ecology, Chinese Academy of Science, Shanghai is studying entomopathogenic fungi and fungal-insect interactions. Prof. Sibao Wang from te same Center gave us an introduction to the mosquito microbiome research.

WE IDENTIFY FUNGI

Moto after Carl von Linné
“If you don’t know names the knowledge of things perishes” Carl Linnaeus “”Botanical Philosophy”, ed. 1, Stockholm & Amsterdam, 1751.”

FungiG holds the expertise in DNA Barcoding (molecular identification) of Trichoderma and other fungi.

About FungiG

FungiG is a research group established by Irina S. Druzhinina and Feng Cai in China. The group inherits traditions on Irina's MiBi Microbiology and Applied Genomics Group that she run in the TU Wien, Vienna, Austria. We focus on ecological genomics, diversity, and evolution of hypocrealean fungi, in particular Trichoderma. In China, we re-establish the research on DNA Barcoding, taxonomy, and identification of fungi, and continue working on surface-active proteins such as hydrophobins and cerato-platanins.
